Biography

Dr. Melissa Popielarczyk, DVM, DACVP, is a 1993 graduate of the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine. During her DVM studies, she worked as a biological scientist in the Dept. of Comparative and Experimental Pathology, where she developed a love for pathology. Following veterinary school Dr. Popielarczyk spent 2 years in private practice, as an associate veterinarian in a small animal and avian hospital in Palm Bay, Florida. She then completed an Anatomic Pathology Residency at Purdue University, where she also earned a master’s degree. She became board certified in anatomic pathology in 2001 and joined Antech in 2003, where she has been ever since. Dr. Popielarczyk has a particular interest in hepatopathology and she enjoys both large and small animal cases. She is a member of the AVMA, Charles Louis Davis, D.V.M. Foundation and the ACVP. She lives in the Adirondacks with her husband and rescue pup, Sierra and enjoys the outdoors, hiking and gardening. The couple has two sons who live nearby in neighboring counties.
