Biography

Dr. Solano received his training in Veterinary Medicine at La Salle University in Bogota, Colombia, in 1988. After three years of graduate work in Anatomy at the University of Georgia, he joined Tufts University in Massachusetts where he completed a radiology residency in 1994. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology and has been in academia ever since. After three years as an Assistant Professor at the Atlantic Veterinary College of the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada, Dr. Solano returned to New England were he continued his academic pursuits. He is currently the Section Head of Diagnostic Imaging and the Residency Director of Tufts University’s Diagnostic Imaging Program. He enjoys teaching veterinary students during their clinical year and educating the next generation of veterinary radiologists. Dr. Solano’s contributions to veterinary literature cover all imaging modalities and a multitude of species. He is an avid ocean kayaker and has a particular interest in marine creatures. He has even managed to image many of them using his radiology training.
