Along the way he also earned two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno. Dan received his DVM from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1990 and spent 2 years in general practice in St. Louis. In 1992 he moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado for his residency. In 1995 he joined the teaching faculty at Texas A&M University. His primary research interest during both his residency and academia years was in musculoskeletal disease. He found a great joy in teaching and clinical outreach.In 1998 Dr. Steinheimer moved to Denver to enter the world of private practice. He became one of the owners of Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in 2004. When the practice was sold to VCA in 2007 he became the Medical Director. He was the Director of the Internship Program from 1999 through 2011. An interesting side note to his time at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital was being part of the Animal Planet reality television show Emergency Vets, a truly surrealistic experience!In 2011, Dr. Steinheimer was promoted to Regional Medical Director for VCA hospitals in Colorado and parts of Washington and for a while, Oklahoma. In 2015 Dr. Steinheimer happily joined the team of radiologists at Antech Imaging Services.Dan shares his private world with his wife Jackie, kids Noah and Megan, 4 dogs, 7 cats and 14 chickens and 20,000 honeybees. He enjoys working in his shop (including rebuilding a 1970 Jeep CJ-5 with his son), gardening and getting into the mountains whenever possible.","credentials":"","education_and_training":"","board_certifications":"","society_memberships":"","areas_of_interest":"","linkedin_url":""},"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":{"enabledWorkflows":[]},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/uat.antechdiagnostics.com\/fr_ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/consultant\/29572","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/uat.antechdiagnostics.com\/fr_ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/consultant"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/uat.antechdiagnostics.com\/fr_ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/consultant"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/uat.antechdiagnostics.com\/fr_ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/27458"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/uat.antechdiagnostics.com\/fr_ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=29572"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"consultant-speciality","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/uat.antechdiagnostics.com\/fr_ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/consultant-speciality?post=29572"},{"taxonomy":"consultant-type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/uat.antechdiagnostics.com\/fr_ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/consultant-type?post=29572"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
