Biography

Dr. Negrão Watanabe earned her DVM degree from the São Paulo State University, Brazil, and later completed a master’s degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In 2014, she obtained a Ph.D. degree from the University of Milan, Italy. She finished her anatomic pathology residency at Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2019 and joined the faculty team as an Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University until 2022. In 2023, she joined Antech Diagnostics. Dr. Negrão Watanabe has been involved in diagnostic services, training residents, and collaborative research projects involving natural infectious disease outbreaks, nutritional diseases, and equine and swine pathology. She has authored and co-authored several manuscripts on diagnostic pathology. Dr. Negrão Watanabe is a Brazilian native and is fluent in Portuguese, English, Italian, and Spanish.
